Venture AOT Gas Not Working: Fuel or Boost Direction?

Last updated 2026-10-12Unofficial player article

Separate an exhausted gas supply from an upward boost input or bad anchor, and reduce repeated fuel-heavy movement.

When gas movement is not working in Venture AOT, separate an exhausted supply from a direction problem. Continuous boost eventually drains gas, and Burst uses a substantial amount. If fuel remains but the movement goes somewhere unexpected, inspect the hooked boost input and anchor placement instead. Reel In is another movement action and does not consume gas in the tutorial, so seeing that launch alone does not prove gas-driven boost is responding.

Read the gas display before another attempt

Look at the fuel state shown in your session. A long sequence of held boost or repeated Burst can explain why the next gas-driven movement no longer behaves as it did at the start. Avoid judging the whole system from one late attempt after a demanding trip.

If the display shows depletion, end the encounter and use the preparation options available in your current game. Read the actual supply interaction rather than following an invented refill key or shop location. If gas remains, keep the check focused on the mapped boost action and the route you expected it to create.

Check whether W is sending you upward

In the demonstrated PC map, Space boosts while hooked. W during that boost sends you upward, S sends you downward, and no movement key gives forward pull. A player expecting W to mean forward can therefore see gas movement happen while still missing the destination.

Try a clear scenery anchor and the forward combination without an unnecessary movement key. Then add one direction deliberately. If the movement now matches the intended route, the symptom was an input interpretation rather than a fuel failure. Read your own map when custom bindings differ from the tutorial.

Check the anchor behind the movement

A single hook pulls around one point, while two attached hooks combine their directions. An unsuitable pair can produce a route that feels wrong even when boost activates. Look at the attachment points and the space between them before adding more gas to the same approach.

If the path keeps climbing, turning, or overshooting, choose another anchor with room in the desired direction. Boost can refine a useful pull; it cannot make every geometry comfortable. Keep this check away from a Titan so a failed approach does not turn the diagnosis into an emergency escape.

Avoid using Burst as a fuel test

Burst is a separate launch and consumes substantial gas. Repeating it just to see whether something happens can drain the supply you are trying to inspect. Confirm one mapped action at a time, then stop once the result is clear.

Reel In follows attached hooks without gas use in the demonstration. It can help build momentum, but its result is a different action. Do not use it as evidence that the fuel display is wrong or that ordinary boost should be unlimited. Keep the movement tools separate while troubleshooting, then combine them again after the symptom makes sense.

Resume with a shorter, deliberate route

  • Check fuel after travel rather than beside the next target.
  • Use one boost correction with a clear purpose.
  • Carry useful momentum between attachments.

For the long-term habit, use Gas Management. For the input map, use ODM Controls. If fuel is available and a correctly mapped boost remains unresponsive on clear scenery, report the display state and action through the official community. Those details distinguish the issue from ordinary depletion and route errors.
