Venture AOT Gas Burst: Forward and Backward Movement

Last updated 2026-10-12Unofficial player article

Use Burst for a planned forward launch, combine S with its binding for Back Burst, and account for substantial gas use.

Gas Burst in Venture AOT launches you forward by releasing gas. Back Burst uses S together with the Burst binding to launch backward in the movement tutorial. Use either direction to solve a specific positioning problem, then continue the route with hooks and momentum. Burst uses a substantial amount of gas, so repeated activation without a destination can leave you with less fuel and no better approach.

Read the skill binding first

Burst is a movement skill rather than the same action as holding ordinary boost. Read the Burst entry in your control map before using a creator's layout. The tutorial does not make the creator's complete set of custom keys a universal default. Translate the demonstrated action into the binding you actually use.

Choose enough space to learn the forward launch on scenery. Face the route you intend to take and leave room beyond the starting point. You want to recognize how the launch changes your position before adding a Titan or a narrow gap. A skill is easier to learn when the first attempt has only one job.

Use forward Burst to change position

A forward launch can help cover a gap or move out along a chosen lane. Make that lane visible before activating. If you are already traveling toward the destination, ask whether another burst improves the angle or simply adds more speed than you can manage.

Movement should serve the next anchor. Plan where you will attach after the launch and avoid using Burst as an excuse to stop choosing hook points. A quick movement action can create useful distance, but it can also throw you toward the same obstacle that made the first approach poor. Direction comes before speed.

Use S with Burst for the backward version

Back Burst combines S with the Burst binding and launches backward in the demonstrated PC setup. Keep that combination separate from S during hooked boost, which influences movement downward. The same directional key participates in different action combinations, so the full input matters.

Use a clear area behind you while practicing. Looking only at the target in front can make a backward move lead into scenery you never checked. Treat the action as a way to reposition along a route you understand. It is not an automatic escape from every Titan or a guarantee that a grab cannot reach you.

Keep gas for the next decision

Burst consumes considerable gas. A repeated sequence may be exciting, but it spends the supply you also need for a later correction. Use one activation when it has a clear purpose, then reassess the path. If ordinary momentum already carries the route, there may be no reason to keep adding fuel-driven launches.

The demonstration also includes Reel In, which moves toward attached hooks without consuming gas. That gives you another way to build momentum, with different directional requirements. It should not be substituted blindly: a Reel In launch follows the anchors, while Burst serves the forward movement you planned. Choose the tool that takes you where you need to go.

Connect the launch with a controlled route

  • Read the skill input in your own map.
  • Leave room in the selected direction.
  • Choose the anchor or landing space after the launch.
  • Check gas before repeating the action during a hunt.

The Skills guide compares the four demonstrated movement tools. For the broader fuel habit, use Gas Management. A useful Burst changes the situation in your favor; it does not need to be pressed continuously to be part of good movement.
