Venture AOT Keybinds: Remap Hooks, Rope and Gas

Last updated 2026-10-12Unofficial player article

Find Tab, Settings and Keybinds, then remap the movement functions your hands need most in Venture AOT.

To remap Venture AOT keybinds, open Tab Menu, choose Settings, and go to Keybinds. Start with hooks, rope and Gas, because those functions need to remain comfortable while you move. Give the layout a clear purpose before changing several inputs at once.

Open the exact keybind menu

Use Tab Menu → Settings → Keybinds to review the controls you are using. The game description says controls can be changed in game, so begin with that menu rather than assuming a letter from another player's layout is also assigned on yours.

Read the function names alongside their inputs. That lets you connect an action such as hook firing or rope adjustment with the assignment you are about to change. Keep a short note of the changes you intend to make if several keys feel awkward. A defined set of changes is easier to learn than a complete rearrangement made simply because another player's bindings look different.

Put movement functions within reach

Hooks, rope control and Gas deserve early attention when choosing comfortable inputs. They work together during movement, so consider how your fingers reach them while also steering. An input that feels fine while standing still can be inconvenient once your hand is handling several actions.

Choose around your natural resting position and the functions you regularly combine. I would address the most disruptive reach first, then decide whether another change is still needed. Blade and attack inputs can follow the mobility choices, with the same attention to reach. The goal is a workable arrangement for your hand, rather than copying a supposed best layout without considering how you use it.

Keep combined actions easy to separate

Review overlapping assignments when two actions need independent control. Rope adjustment and Gas are a useful pair to think about: you may want to change a turn while also deciding whether to accelerate. Keep that decision under your control instead of making a crowded layout harder to understand.

This is an arrangement recommendation. Focus on the actions you intend to press together and the inputs you can reach independently. If a binding makes your hand leave its useful movement position, reconsider that choice before adjusting several other keys to compensate. A small improvement in reach can be more valuable than a layout full of changes that each need relearning.

Try a changed action before a full chain

After a change, use the individual action in a safe area. Connect the configured input to the movement you expect, then add a short sequence involving the other functions. A simple attempt makes it easier to tell which new assignment needs attention.

If the individual action responds but the combined chain feels awkward, work on the timing or reach of that combination. If the changed action does not respond as expected, return to the assignment you were reviewing. These observations answer different questions. Use controls troubleshooting when the problem is response itself, rather than continuing to redesign a layout around a failed action.

Let the useful arrangement become familiar

Once the essential reach problems are addressed, leave room to learn the arrangement. Frequent changes can keep you thinking about keys instead of hook points and movement. Keep the layout stable enough to see whether the original discomfort has actually improved.

For mobile play, separate button visuals from this remapping task. The mobile layout guide handles size and transparency, while mobile controls focuses on touch functions and the hook setting. For keyboard play, use the ODM controls reference when you need the action sequence itself. Your keybind page is for arranging access to those actions, not relearning every movement technique at once.
